Reducing our footprint on the Earth
Vision
There is a tendency for the modern human race to believe that our technology and the professionals involved, place us in a position of being able to understand the systems of importance to us and to solve all problems. This is so far from the truth that we need to exercise real caution and question all information and models presented to us as truth. We are well advised to look to the maturity model and realize that we are at the lowest level where short term goals and reacting to the unexpected, characterize our behaviour. We need to strive to define the characteristics of the highest level of maturity where real vision and a humble recognition of how far we need to progress is recognized.
Oh, that we had the vision of Finland where clean water, organic agriculture and educational capabilities were adopted as the national strategy “Mission for Finland”! Imagine if all nations lifted their sights to the real necessities for a sustainable planet and focused on truly renewable resources together with an equitable distribution of essential resources to all who inhabit the planet. Imagine if we valued the contribution of every individual on this planet and sought to provide meaningful occupation to all who were capable. Imagine if we really recognized the importance of the relationship with with all other organisms who also call Earth their home. Imagine if we had the wisdom to articulate policies that would govern our international behaviour toward a sustainable fair go for everyone.
